And she counts...

Ever since we moved to our new house everytime we go up the stairs I count the stairs. Grace would copy me, but never would do it on her own.

Well yesterday I was sitting at my desk (which is right next to the stairs) and I hear Grace going up the stairs counting away.... 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 6, 8, 9, 10!

I about ran for some q-tips to make sure I was hearing things right. I am so proud of my girl. I think she has known how to count for a while, but she had to do it when I wasn't looking. I was able to get her to do it for Adam, but when we called my dad and when I tried to get it on camera it was a no go. So for now you will just have to take my word. It's cute though.

Oh and she doesn't say 1 or 7... just starts with 2 and says 6 twice.

Now just to get her to say her ABC's... right now it goes something like this.... CCCCCCD. We're working on it. :) She will copy me one letter at a time, but when I ask her to sing her ABC's she says a lot of C's... so only 25 more letters to go!!

Bubbie has been counting for a while, but he is finally starting to understand that 1 is a number! Now he is trying to understand the months with Grayson... he thinks grayson is 2 months old, because he can't possibly be 6 (almost) months old, because that is "older" than him! Way to go Grace!

Cody always counted with 2 first as well and I think that's because when you start counting, you start off with one and she usually starts off with two to follow you. They eventually realize they can say the number one. It's so fun to hear them count. Just the other day Cody counted all the way to twenty. I had no idea he could count that high. Maybe I need to pay more attention.

Good luck with the bottles. Maybe you should just try the cheap .99 cent Gerber ones. She just might not like the expensive bottles :)

We've had the same luck with bottles. Kaylie will only take about an ounce from the bottle and then gets VERY UPSET! Luckily I haven't really felt "the need" to leave her too long yet and Daddy and her can "manage" for a few hours! Only 5 more months for us til we can try real milk! :)

I did try the advise of a neighbor who breast fed her kiddos and got the REALLY BIG pacifiers - like the 24 month size and she is actually taking that now!

Good Luck!

That is so cute!! I just wanted to comment that Carson always has a hard time starting with 1, too!!! We are always saying, "what do you start with?" but it's usually 2.

About the ABC's - he says ABCDJ. :-)
