a night out...

Last Saturday (yes I'm a little behind) we had our good friends, Katy and Andy, and their little nearly one-year-old daughter, Paige, came to visit!

They really came into town to celebrate another friend's birthday. So my mom came over and watched all 3 girls! THANKS mom!

And Katy, Andy, Adam and I went to the party. This was really the first time I've left Emma for any real length of time. We had a great evening out. The girls did good for my mom except for my little one boycotting the bottle.

So seriously... what is the deal with my children? They apparently do NOT like bottles. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE breastfeeding. But being able to be away for more than 3 hours would be nice.

We had the same issue with Grace. We finally got her to take a Playtex Ventaire bottle... so naturally we have tried that with Emma and no go. We have also tried Avent bottles. We have tried other people giving her the bottle... Adam, my mom, Adam's mom... no go. Any other ideas?

Hmmm... I thought this post was suppose to be about my night out?!! Isn't it funny that even when you have a night away you end up just talking about your kiddos. :)

Have you tried Dr. Brown bottles? That's the only bottle we have, and Averee seems to like it.I mean I haven't been gone longer than 3 hours either, but she does fine with this one. Of course she is a 13.5lb. chunker too, I think she would drink from anything!haha Anyway, maybe give that brand a try (the short bottle, the nipple is wider). Also, I'm not sure if your girls got a SOOTHIE paci from the hospital(the green one)but, they do make soothie bottles with the same paci for a nipple! Well, there are a few new options...good luck!

Had the same problem with #3 and #4. The First Years makes a bottle called Breast Flow. My #4 will take it. It works more like a breast so that they don't have to suck different to make it work. Kenz never liked the bottle either. Its aggravating, you never get to go anywhere without them!! We tried every type of bottle too!! It sounds crazy, but her favorite one that she seemed to actually take besides the platex one, was the stinkin cheap munchkin bottle's at target!! it was so crazy, they are like $1.29!! THey are the one's that u turn the nipple and there are three setting slow, med and fast!! worth the try???

No advice from me... Molly never wanted to eat regardless of bottle type, and Avery will eat from anything you put in her mouth. I have no idea what to tell you, except GOOD LUCK!

No ideas! If you get any good ones, pass them on. Grayson won't take a bottle. I've tried them all. I recently bought a MaM brand. Its suppose to be JUST LIKE THE REAL THING..... haven't tried it yet. I'll let you know! Its so frustrating not being able to be away for more than a couple of hours!

It's so comforting to see so many other people that experience this...my daughter never took a bottle either. I did hear good things about the Breast Flow bottle even though it didn't work for us. Good luck!
